When Shahrukh Khan gave a witty reply to Jaya Bachchan
Abhishek Bachchan's Happy New Year was once referred to as a senseless movie by Jaya Bachchan. But Shah Rukh Khan was prepared with a sarcastic reply.
Jaya Bachchan has frequently made headlines for her views and comments on things. She frequently displays irrational outbursts when photographers attempt to take her picture on various occasions. The seasoned actress caught everyone's attention when she referred to Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year as "nonsensical" because she is known for her forthright and honest thoughts.
She recently made headlines when she was spotted telling a photographer, "I hope you fall," which elicited angry reactions from many famous people. Most of the time, the veteran actress' no-filter approach is directed towards media reporters and photographers. She once even neglected to spare King Khan and his 2014 movie.
Jaya Bachchan admitted she saw Happy New Year because of her son Abhishek Bachchan during a Mumbai Literature Festival panel titled "The inadequacy of literature in informing present film." She continued by recalling that Shah Rukh Khan was prepared with his funny remark after she even informed the producers and the major actors about her review.
According to Jaya Bachchan, “if he can play foolishly in front of the camera like that, he is a superb actor. I no longer act in films because I am unable to participate in the way that movies are made today. The task was beyond my capabilities. But he did it with such ease that I was impressed. Of course, I went and told the director and star of the film that this was the most senseless movie I've ever seen.”

I said it could be entertaining. Amar Akbar Anthony is a film I love watching… if you want to laugh, you don’t take back home anything you watched in the theatre.”
After Jaya Bachchan criticized Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year, it was also reported that Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek, and Aishwarya Rai tried to apologise to the star. Later, however, he debunked the reports on Twitter and stated, “Have not read a more crappy, made-up piece of journalism lately.”
